Shine the Light on Domestic Violence
The Third Annual Shine the Light on Domestic Violence in Times Square. KAFSC took a stand with Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer and the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (OPDV) and a coalition of advocates, elected officials, non-profit leaders, and survivors at the special lighting ceremony on Monday, October 7, at 6:30 PM on Duffy Square in Times Square.
Shine the Light on Domestic Violence campaign is a statewide public awareness campaign. By turning landmarks around the city and state purple, the campaign sparks discussion about this devastating problem that threatens the safety of too many New Yorkers. What better way to shed light on this issue than by lighting up some of the largest and brightest digital screens in one of the most visible spots in the world!
