As part of KAFSC’s Economic Empowerment Program, we celebrated the book launch of Bridges of Belonging: An Intergenerational Journey Through Memory, Womanhood, and Becoming at Gallery AP Space.
This powerful collection of poems and short stories was written by immigrant mothers, daughters, survivors. At the event, participants recited their writings, fellow instructors shared their heart-felt reflected on their teaching experiences, Councilwoman Linda Lee honored writers with certificates from District 23, and KAFSC’s Board Chair Esther Limb offered her congratulations.
Through the book Bridges of Belonging, KAFSC hopes to uplift the voices of our community; those that reflected and healed with us during the English Writing Workshop.
